Speedy Sky bought up Trainer Elesha Pilgrims second stakes placing
when she ran an impressive third in the Wrest Point Strutt Stakes on
Hobart Cup Day. Pilgrim now hopes that Speedy Sky can provide
her with her first stakes winner in the Tasmanian Oaks to be run at
Launceston this Sunday. "Speedy Sky has pulled up as good as
gold from the Hobart run and from barrier one, with the states premier
Jockey Brendan McCoull on board, I could not be happier with things
going into the Oaks", she stated. Speedy Sky is one of half a dozen horses by stallion Tough Speed that Pilgrim has trained.
"The
Tough Speed horses I have trained have been very attractive types at
the yearling sales, not overly big, but ready to race and all have
shown more than average ability", said Pilgrim who also has Our Super,
another by Tough Speed, in the $100,000 Shaw Magic Millions 2YO Classic
on Launceston Cup Day. "Our Super is in a very strong race but
has drawn a good barrier for the first time this preparation and is a
good place chance", she said. Tough Speed's progeny currently have an outstanding winning strike rate of 14.5 percent. Speedy Sky Wins at Devonport
